WEIGHT

Mass, described only by what it does to everything under it.

Vertical frame of a heavy mass pressing into a yielding surface

Medium

Synthetic film / vertical study

No scale cues, no hands, no room. The object is legible only through the load it puts on the surface it rests against, which is a harder brief than photographing the object well.

Vertical suits gravity. The frame is taller than it is wide, so the fall has somewhere to go and the compression at the bottom reads without a cut.

Detail of the loaded surface at the point of maximum compression

Kept as proof that weight is a lighting and timing problem, not a modelling one.
