A machine that does not exist, held to watch-advertising tolerances.
Synthetic image / precision study
Brushed aluminium plates, a knurled oxide-red ring, a jewelled pivot. Nothing in the frame has a function, and every part is machined as though it did.
Precision work is judged at the edges: chamfer width, screw slot alignment, the gap between plates. The eye checks tolerances before it decides whether it believes the object.
The contact point gives it away before the machining does.
No contact shadow, no scale. The part hovered like a stock cut-out and lost every gram of implied weight.
Dead centre, evenly lit, fully in focus. Correct as a catalogue record and completely inert as an image.
Now the reference frame for how we shoot hardware, interfaces and anything that has to look engineered.
